The 3rd Workshop on the Transfer of Scientific Knowledge in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy was held on September 7, 2018, coinciding with the World Duchenne Awareness Day. The workshop was organized by Duchenne Parent Project España and was focused on the research of the Muscular Dystrophies of Duchenne and Becker in Spain.
Participants gathered at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona and interactively discussed ways of establishing communication and collaboration between the scientific community, in order to facilitate a rapid advancement in the research and investigation of these rare diseases. Duchenne Parent Project España Scientific Director, Marisol Montolio, presented the organization’s strategic research plan during the workshop.
SOM Biotech R&D Manager, Gal.la Pericot, did a presentation about Drug Repurposing for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy wherein she discussed SOM Biotech’s business model, technology and SOM2201 project on Duchenne.
