Undiagnosed Children’s Day 2018

posted on April 13, 2018

Undiagnosed Children’s Day is a nationwide event in the UK that occurs on the last Friday of April each year. It aims to increase awareness of undiagnosed genetic conditions and raise funds to support SWAN UK (syndromes without a name). This year, Undiagnosed Children’s Day took place on the 27th of April 2018.

SWAN UK is the only dedicated support network available for families of children and young adults with undiagnosed genetic conditions in the UK. It is run by the charity Genetic Alliance UK, which also manages Rare Disease UK.

Approximately 6,000 children are born in the UK each year with a syndrome without a name – a genetic condition so rare that it is often impossible to diagnose.

SOM Biotech is one with SWAN UK to raise awareness of undiagnosed genetic conditions. Find out how you can show your support and get involved here.
